Overview

The Selkirk LABS Boomstik makes a loud statement on the court, with both its power and its sound. Thanks to a new BoomCore foam interior, this paddle delivers explosive pop without sacrificing durability. There's no break-in period and no core crush, just solid, consistent output from day one.

Selkirk also introduced a new MOI Tuning System, which shifts weight to the outer edges of the paddle to improve balance and enlarge the sweet spot. It helps the paddle feel more stable on contact, especially when you're stretched wide or hitting off-center. This weight system does give the paddle a heavy feel in hand. Combined with the InfiniGrit surface, you'll get high-end spin and power with a confident, responsive feel.

The Elongated shape adds extra reach and plow-through for players who drive from deeper in the court. The longer handle also supports two-handed backhands and gives you more torque on groundstrokes. If you want a paddle that feels powerful and connected on full swings, this shape will give you the added extension you're looking for.

*The red leather case is no longer included*

Awesome paddle, service is questionableI've played with Joola paddles for several years, but tried the Selkirk Boomstik thinking I'd just send it back and exchange it for a Joola IV. I fell in love with the Boomstik! Power, for sure, but somehow it feels like I have more control. The spin is a big reason! I've only had it a couple of weeks, but it's raised my level already. Resets have improved! The issue I have is small lines are forming on the surface near the edges, not sure if these are cracks. No one will answer that question. I'd be happy just knowing the paddle will continue to perform as is. Instead, I was offered a warrantee claim, and offered a replacement. That's truly great, but the model I bought (Regal) is not available. Even though it just came out, I'm being told (in writing) it was a "limited edition". However, their own website still lists it as out of stock, and asks if you want to be notified when MORE ARE AVAILABLE. Hmmmm. So which one is it...is the Regal color pattern a limited edition, or just out of stock for now? Either I was lied to about it being a "limited edition", or the website is misleading. Not a great look for Selkirk...However, they still have the opportunity to fix this for me. I'm looking forward to seeing how they respond.

Broomstick paddleI love this paddle, it improves my game. However, after just a few weeks playing grit started damping. I have a cheaper Honolulu paddle and it’s still in very good condition after a year. I’m not sure if it’s a normal process, but Selkirk claims its grit should last 3 times longer, which is not a case. Sent it back. Got a refund. Pickleball warehouse is a great company.

Too HeavyThis paddle is the best in the Selkirk line. The only downside is the permanent weights attached to the edge guard. Players have the ability to add weight to any paddle, and place them in a preferred spot. This paddle does not allow that. Hopefully, Selkirk will offer a newer version of this technology without the added weight, and produce 7.5-8.0 oz Boomstiks.
