Speed. Power. Precision

Introducing the newest member of the Blade family. It's called the Blade 100 Pro v10, and it packs an impressive combination of speed, power, and precision. Featuring the thickest and firmest beam in the Blade family, the 100 Pro feels crisp, stable, and lively. Based on the Steam 100 mold and used on the WTA Tour, this stick's 16x20 string pattern delivers a more linear trajectory than the Blade 16x19, making it great for driving the ball through the court. Other notable features include a slightly extended length for added pop on groundstrokes and serves, combined with a sub-320 swingweight that delivers explosive acceleration from the baseline and quick handling at the net. Technologies include StableFeel+ to enhance stability and minimize frame wobble on off-center hits. Wilson also tightens spec tolerances for weight, balance, and swingweight, making it easier to match multiple frames. Other technologies include Wilson's FORTYFIVE layup construction, which arranges the carbon fibers at a 45-degree angle to optimize the bending properties. This racquet also features Direct Connect Technology, which fuses the end cap directly to the handle for a more connected feel. Ultimately, with its thicker, more powerful beam, this racquet adds a new dimension to the Blade franchise. Players seeking a speedy racquet with a crisp feel and controllable power will love this new addition to the Blade family.

Not the worst, not the bestLet me preface my comments by stating I demoed this racquet and the string tension was much lower than I would normally play with so that may have affected my playing experience. With that said, I know why I stopped playing with a Blade about four years ago. The racquet is well made, and the specs are somewhat unique in a good way. It has average stability, power and spin and is very maneuverable for a slightly extended frame. The biggest negative is the unpredictable launch angle. While it has a 100-inch square head and a 16 x 20 string pattern, it is a really open string pattern and causes a trampoline effect unless you take full swings on your strokes. While I generally liked the racquet for serves, volleys and return of serve, my groundstrokes were all over the court. The unpredictability could possibly be corrected with different poly strings and a much tighter tension, but you should test my theory before purchase. If different strings at a tighter tension solve the unpredictable launch angle, then the racquet is worthy of consideration, especially if you have a spin-oriented game, take full swings on your groundstrokes and want a little extra clearance and power in your serve. On the other hand, if your game is consistency and you tend to hit flatter groundstrokes, i think there are better racquets out there that fit your playing style.

You need a new relationship?Than buy this one and customize it to your needs. In my case I added an thinner leather grip and lead ( tourna power stripes) at 12, 9 and 3. I use 1,20 mm strings, msv hex and Head Lynx Tour orange. I love the feel, better feel than my Yonex sticks, good power and a deep slice.

BE NOT AFRAIDDon’t be put off by the PRO name. I’m a 3.5 level player and I encourage anyone interested to demo this frame. I play tested this along with the new EZONE 100, Pure Drive, and Speed MP and I played my best with the stock Blade 100 PRO. My 12 year old son has been played with it strung up with a multi-filament string and enjoys it as well. Strings do impact the feel. The demo appeared to use ALU Power - played amazing but was a bit “tinny” in feel. With the multi (Head MLT?) the feeling is plush with no vibration. Higher level players can probably get even more from this frame but the controlled power is still there for the rest of us too.

OVERALL BEST ALL AROUND BLADEThe v10 Blade Pro 100 is a great update for an advanced player seeking next level spin and power potential. It's no wonder it's one of most popular models on tour. The racquet really rewards clean hitters. Nothing not to like about this update!
