Ultimate speed, flexibility, and comfort, with enough support and stability built-in for even the fastest players on tour.

Designed to be the ultimate lightweight performance shoe, the Asics Solution Speed FF 3 provides a special blend of speed, stability, and comfort for players who run down every ball. Since the inception of the Solution Speed, comfort, lightness, and flexibility have been key elements of its design. With this 6th generation of the Solution Speed Asics re-engineers the Speedtruss system, which enhances flexibility and speed, while giving you stability to change directions with full force. The new uppers consist of woven mesh for a lighter and more comfortable feel, while also improving breathability. Also new for this update is Asics' Precision-Sole outsole made to grip the court when you need it to, and flex smoothly as you sprint all over the court!

  • Upper: Engineered woven mesh for a lighter feel and improved comfort (previous version had more TPU). PGUARD technology protects toe-drag damage, and added protection on the medial side.
  • Midsole: FLYTEFOAM cushioning is responsive comfortable. FLYTEFOAM PROPEL helps with heel to toe transition for a speedier feel when pushing off. Speedtruss improves flexibility, and helps stabilize feet during intense transitions.
  • Outsole: High Abrasion Rubber with Precision-Sole technology. Innovative outsole design maximizes grip and flexibility, but also allows hardcourt sliders to go full speed into stops for controlled, smooth braking.
  • Color: Cream / Midnight

Needs more lateral supportI loved the previous generation of these and also really liked these at first, they're light, breathable, and have great traction. As a 4.5, I felt like these offered a lot in terms of performance relative to other shoes I've worn through the years BUT I found that it's really easy to roll your ankles in these. The lowers are kind of high off the ground and there is very limited lateral support in the rest of the shoe. Rolled my ankles a few times in these when I put a lot of momentum sliding sideways into the corners.

Best yet?I have a notoriously difficult time finding tennis shoes that work for me. I play mostly har-tru “clay” with hard courts thrown in here and there. I have 2 pair of the Solution Speed 3s that I have used for the last year or so. Good shoes, my main gripe was that they didn’t have the best lockdown and cushioning was very sparse. The upper on version 4 fits my feet very similarly to the 3s, so if the 3s fit you the 4s should too. The things I really like about this shoe are that it has better lockdown and more cushion without making them bulkier. The lockdown is better because they have better laces and the tongue isn’t so thick. They also designed the eyelets so it has this little trick that will really lock your heel. The cushioning actually feels like it is there for a change. Last but not least they added some mesh so these are a little more breathable. Best shoe I can remember playing in.

Wider forefoot than prior versionWider forefoot made it feel loose compared with the FF 3. This may be a feature for many players but it was a bug for me. I gave them to a friend with wider feet.

Better Than SS3s In Every WayI used the SS3s for 2 years, went through 3 pairs of them, and can say that the 4s are better in every way. The feel more supportive on the ankles, more grip on the court, more bouncy, more responsive, the laces are better, and they feel equally as light to me. The one thing I have noticed is that the 4s were much harder to break in that my previous 3s, which resulted in some pretty gnarly blisters on both heels for the first week of use. So I would recommend a more intentional break in process before any intense sessions. I went straight into a footwork and speed practice with my brand new pair and regretted it. User error though, so I'm not knocking the rating of the shoe.

Terrific upgradeBeen using all previous gens of this shoe, v2 and v3 needed a cushioned insole to prevent the achilles flaring up. Great shoes, but raw. This one is basically v3 with a cushioned insole, all-in-one. It's way more plush and comfy, it's the best feeling out of the box shoe on the market IMO. May be a little heavier, but you will never notice it. Gladly will take the extra cushion and bounce. Laces are also improved, the prior version were too thin and snapped frequently. Last but not least, the traction. Stellar. There is a piece in the toe that helps with forward push off, unreal. I'm in love.... what can I say. 5.5 player.

Great Shoe, Would like more colors!I've worn the previous versions of these for quite awhile. They seemed narrow in the toe box but I always liked the performance of them. The newest version is much more comfortable right out-of-the-box and has a wider toe box which keeps my toes from jamming up against the edges. My last 4 pairs of shoes have been on cloud Rogers and on cloud fires; these are way more comfortable. My only complaint is that I would like to see more colorways. Super stoked about this new model!

Slower than FF3FF3 acceleration/quickness 10/10, ultra responsive & low to the ground. I prefer FF3 b/c of just raw performance & feel. You can cut out of corners and recover unlike anything I've exp. But I think most people will prefer FF4 over FF3. FF4 feels like 80% FF & 20% gel resolution. Its higher off the ground, more cushioned. The shape of the shoe is very contoured in the toe box & this was an upgrade for me, I like my shoes super snug. But I foresee the fit can be hit or miss for people. Good luck if you got a fat foot. I'd imagine the durability is better than FF3 b/c FF3 was low durability. Also new, the ff4 pushes you forward onto your toes all the time. The laces & tongue are thicker and way more comfortable, big improvement. The runners knot eyelet is now only on 1 side of each shoe. Slightly less lockdown or maybe I don't know how to runners knot/heel lock this new design correctly.

Improvement over previous FF3, similar to GR9I've struggled to find a shoe to replace the GR9s since the GR10s were released. I used the Speed FF3s most of last year and while it was good, I had some stability issues and slipping when I clipped the plastic on the bottom. My experience with the Speed FF4 has been entirely positive in my first 10 hours on court with them. They're a little more cushiony than the Speed FF3s, primarily in the middle section, but overall they fit and play about the same. I think the break-in time is faster now too, which is nice. There was a little popping sound when I walked in them at first, but this went away after about an hour. It feels like they added a little stability and improved the sole in some fashion (feels firmer, more grippy, not entirely sure, but I like it). Overall I like this shoe a lot and don't have anything negative to say about it.

Great ShoesMy feet are very particular although in general I am not. But my feet let me know quickly and consistently if the shoes don't mesh with them. In this case, I found a light well built shoe that I can wear indefinitely with no complaints. I feel more agile and sure footed. They were worth the price!

Huge step backI was a huge fan of the previous Solution Speed FF2s and bought probably 5 or 6 pairs of them. I switched to these after those stopped being available - I can''t believe how much of a step back these are. They initially felt comfortably, but after just an hour of hitting developed blisters on the inside of each ankle where the top of the shoe meets the skin. It looks like they removed a layer of padding that the previous version had. Safe to say I am disappointed and will probably never be buying Asics shoes again. I don't know why these companies have to change a winning formula, but these shoes are a loser. Definitely skip these shoes.
